Blog - Canadian Animal Physio Spotlight (me)
And Four Leg Info on Diet/Supplements/Nutrition!
The life updates:
Work is busy! Really busy! I feel so blessed! Our Covid protocols seem to be serving us well and people are good about them too!
Garden is planted. Just a small patch this year because we need to fix the chicken coop and will require the other garden plots to do the job.
We're barely keeping up with lawn mowing. Lots of rain... but the yard is looking amazing! We're still about 3 weeks behind because of the late spring however.
Cows will be heading out to their summer pastures soon... so I guess next up will be to figure out what projects the summer will hold!
Alrighty, so enough about me...
Video Training 205: Infrared Thermography
Part 2 - How To & Clinical Cases
|
|
In part two we look more at the 'How To' aspects of Infrared Thermography. (Big Thank you to Meghan Laing from the Playground Dog Daycare & Kennels in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada for the first part of this video. She did it for me to help me get started when I bought her infrared camera!) The second half of this video looks at clinical cases from the Sporting Dog Assessment
Day that we had at my clinic (The Canine Fitness Centre). So it's a look at how the IRT images correlated with physical findings.
I hope you find this useful!
Enjoy!

A little history - Me & Animal Rehabilitation in Canada & beyond
|
|
Here’s a blog that comes from a project that we have been wanting to get started up here in Canada for our Animal Rehab Division. For a multitude of reasons, the project has not taken off (problems with the ARD youtube channel, etc!) Anyhow, I figured it was something that I could use or could be shared if I simply uploaded the video I created to my own YouTube Channel. So, I'm using it here
as this week's blog!
I think this was filmed last year or the year before out in my backyard when I had just come home from yoga. Bad outfit, bad angle, bad hair, bad wind, bad double chin! Ah well. Forgive me the flaws! May it be interesting, useful, or inspirational to others in some way!

In this NEW section, I want to inspire you to GO BACK THROUGH some of the OLD Four Leg Education Modules!
Diet / Supplements / Nutrition
Alrighty, Rehab & Physio doesn't usually dive very deep into diet and nutrition. Yes, we all know that weight loss can help with overall health, but perhaps there is more that we (animal rehab professionals) need to know or understand about nutrition, supplements, vitamins, etc. Here's what FourLeg has to offer on this topic SO FAR! ;)

I've put all of my exercises (and some of yours) onto a handy platform - Physiotec! It's a wonderful online resource for delivering home exercise / advice programs.
There are HUNDREDS of exercises FOURLEGEXERCISE.COM already! You can find the exercises, print off a handout, send them a link to the VIDEOS of the exercises. There's
so much! Massage, Owner-friendly joint therapies, Exercises, Advisement, etc, etc.
NOW... be aware that this platform is run by / owned by / billed for separately, by... Physiotec... and the support for the website is via physiotec as well. The MAIN GLITCH I am finding now... is that when you e-mail or call tech-support you will NEED to LET THEM KNOW that your question pertains to
FOURLEGEXERCISE! (Otherwise, it's a bit of a schmozzle to get sorted, because they direct you to the Physiotec website vs FourLegExercise website!!!) Check it out and LET ME KNOW (what you think, your experiences, etc... so that I can report back if there are issues!)
I hope you find it useful!
GO THERE... CHECK IT OUT!
