Lets see... life in review.
I'm losing track of what day it is. Every morning I wake up in a panic wondering 'Do I have to go to work today or not?' It's all on a constant loop it seems! I wonder when that feeling will end.
So instead of telling you about more happenings in my life (none really), here are some good open access articles to direct you towards!
2. Great article by Dr. David Lane. - Iliopsoas Injuries in Dogs
I saw this first on the SpectraVET Laser Therapists Discussion, with a highlight as to TECHNIQUE!
"When using a laser, it is important to direct the beam from a ventral direction, dorsally, toward the ventral aspect of the lumbar spine. In large dogs, for the photons to be able to reach the iliopsoas with an adequate dosage, the probe needs to be applied against the abdominal wall with enough pressure to compress tissue until the probe is less than 4 cm from the lumbar spine. This is easily accomplished with a class IIIb laser, but for class IV lasers, this may require reducing the power
to 500 mW."
The article commences on page 34. Enjoy!

Okay! Enough about me (and things I like to read)...

In searching through some research articles recently, the following paper caught my eye.
Jeong IS, Piao Z, Rahman MM, Kim S, Kim NS. Canine thoracolumbar intervertebral disk herniation and rehabilitation therapy after surgical decompression: A retrospective study. J Adv Vet Anim Res. 2019;6(3):394‐402.

Based on one of the questions on the forum, I'd like to create a 'cheat sheet' of common Veterinary abbreviations and common Physical Therapy abbreviations.
So, I created a survey monkey survey as a way to capture abbreviations that both professional groups tend to use!
Please help me out! Thanks!

For over a year, I worked with Physiotec (an online exercise platform) to create a exercise prescription platform for canine rehab practitioners. And this is it!
I've put hundreds of exercises together onto this handy platform. You can find the exercises, print off a handout, send them a link to the VIDEOS of the exercises. There's so much: Massage, owner-friendly joint therapies, exercises, advisement, etc,
etc!
NOW... be aware that this platform is run by / owned by Physiotec (and they charge separately for it's use)... and the support for the website is via physiotec as well. The MAIN GLITCH I am finding now... is that when you e-mail or call tech-support you will NEED to LET THEM KNOW that your question pertains to FOURLEGEXERCISE! (Otherwise, it's a bit of a schmozzle to get sorted, because they direct you to the
Physiotec website vs FourLegExercise website!!!) Check it out and LET ME KNOW (what you think, your experiences, etc... so that I can report back if there are issues!)
I hope you find it useful!
Go there... Check it out!!!

Have a great week everyone!
