What's new?
Well, it snowed! That's new!
Hubby's PET Scan was cancelled (they mixed the Gallium incorrectly), but that's okay. The Chinese Herbalist we see is happy with how he's doing.
I have some time off and I think I'm going to sleep for most of it. Gosh, I've been tired. Maybe it's the weather, or maybe everything is just catching up with me. Time to get the fireplace in action and start eating more soup!
The puppy is fitting in well. The older dogs are telling her off nicely and sometimes playing with her too. WE continue to need training in letting her out more frequently. It's getting better, but we've gone through 2 bottles of spay on carpet cleaner. (I bought a bigger jug last time!!!) She does like going out with hubby to check cows and play with the 'real' cow dogs. (Just to be clear, she'll never be more than a 'truck dog'
on this ranch!)
Okay! Enough about me!

I'm still asking for testimonials.
PLEASE, would any veterinarian that I have ever taught on the subject of canine rehab (assessment, making a 'rehab diagnosis', treatment, exercise prescription, modalities, etc., etc.) - Live, or even if within FourLeg, please write me a letter of recommendation. The intention is to prove ME as a credible source on these
topics. Crazy... but this has been suggested to me as a way to help prove myself as a content expert when in discussions with the Vet Colleges (Vet Boards) up here! And, it doesn't matter where in the world you are from. PLEASE and THANK YOU!
(You can e-mail them to me at Laurie@FourLeg.com. I am so incredibly grateful to those of you that have helped me out with this already.)
Let's get onto your learning for the week...

How Many Home Exercises Do You Prescribe?

For this blog inspiration, I give credit to Silvia Lavallee (PT) from Manitoba, Canada. She forwarded an elbast that the Manitoba Physiotherapy Association sent out to their members on this topic.
Here’s the full blurb:
How many exercises should I prescribe in a patient’s home exercise program?

Here's a good one! And lots on Four Leg about this topic too!
Now, manual therapy can also include massage, stretching, myofascial release... but for the sake of this Blast from the Past, I stuck with mobilization-type manual therapies.

For over a year, I worked with Physiotec (an online exercise platform) to create a exercise prescription platform for canine rehab practitioners. And this is it!
I've put hundreds of exercises together onto this handy platform. You can find the exercises, print off a handout, send them a link to the VIDEOS of the exercises. There's so much: Massage, owner-friendly joint therapies, exercises, advisement, etc,
etc!
NOW... be aware that this platform is run by / owned by Physiotec (and they charge separately for it's use)... and the support for the website is via physiotec as well. The MAIN GLITCH I am finding now... is that when you e-mail or call tech-support you will NEED to LET THEM KNOW that your question pertains to FOURLEGEXERCISE! (Otherwise, it's a bit of a schmozzle to get sorted, because they direct you to the
Physiotec website vs FourLegExercise website!!!) Check it out and LET ME KNOW (what you think, your experiences, etc... so that I can report back if there are issues!)
I hope you find it useful!
Go there... Check it out!!!

Have a great week everyone!
Until next time... Cheers!
