What's new?
Well it seems that a lot of 'crap' has happened this past week. At least that's what sounds to be happening from my clients! Dog injuries (in multiple's of 3), water pipes bursting, friends or parents with illnesses, customer complaints, and so on. Here's my thinking, I think that too many people are inadvertently wishing for something exciting to happen. And this is all that the universe and deliver
during this pandemic and lockdown!!! So, I have started to wish my clients a 'boring week or month ahead'! We'll see what happens with that!
From a Covid standpoint, "No, I cannot come and teach for you in your country." Canada's new travel restrictions are extensive! In addition to cancelling flights from some parts of the world, we also have to have a negative test within 72hrs before we fly out or come home. When we come home (from an international flight), we can only fly into one of 4 airports. Upon entry we need to quarantine in a government approved hotel for 3 nights - to watch for symptoms
and essentially be guarded so that we don't leave... at an expense of $2000. Yes, this applies to anyone wanting to come to Canada as well. So, I'm staying home for quite some time.
But this year of 'no teaching' has taught me that I really do enjoy those aspects of my life. So, I will look forward to resuming them at some point in the future.
Alrighty, that's it for the updates... On with the show!!

By the way, I'm still asking for testimonials.
PLEASE, would any veterinarian that I have ever taught on the subject of canine rehab (assessment, making a 'rehab diagnosis', treatment, exercise prescription, modalities, etc., etc.) - Live, or even if within FourLeg, please write me a letter of recommendation. The intention is to prove ME as a credible source on these topics. Crazy...
but this has been suggested to me as a way to help prove myself as a content expert when in discussions with the Vet Colleges (Vet Boards) up here! And, it doesn't matter where in the world you are from. PLEASE and THANK YOU!
(You can e-mail them to me at Laurie@FourLeg.com. I am so incredibly grateful to those of you that have helped me out with this already.)
Let's get onto your learning for the week...
BLOG:
Why Dog Owners Post Rehab Questions on Facebook
|
|
There is a trend for dog owners to go online to ask question about their dog – seeking sometimes what seems to be medical advice. A colleague of mine posted the following question, asking about this, and more to the point why people were doing this and what they felt they were missing from their vet, surgeon, or rehab professional.
I asked Stella if I could share her question and the responses to make it into a blog post. She was cool with it, so here it is.
Essentially the answers could be divided into 3 categories. Have a read of the answers below:

Helping the Neurologic Dog - Pointing to More Resources
|
|
I set out to write an original blog on items to help the neurologic dog. The wobbly. The disc dog. The paralyzed dog. The degenerative myelopathy dog. And so on. I was inspired by another blog I saw… but then I thought, “Why reinvent the wheel?” “Why not just share tidbits and links to those blogs?”
So, here we go!!!
(Feel free to link to it or share it on your own social media page if you'd like!)

For over a year, I worked with Physiotec (an online exercise platform) to create a exercise prescription platform for canine rehab practitioners. And this is it!
I've put hundreds of exercises together onto this handy platform. You can find the exercises, print off a handout, send them a link to the VIDEOS of the exercises. There's so much: Massage, owner-friendly joint therapies, exercises, advisement, etc,
etc!
NOW... be aware that this platform is run by / owned by Physiotec (and they charge separately for it's use)... and the support for the website is via physiotec as well. The MAIN GLITCH I am finding now... is that when you e-mail or call tech-support you will NEED to LET THEM KNOW that your question pertains to FOURLEGEXERCISE! (Otherwise, it's a bit of a schmozzle to get sorted, because they direct you to the
Physiotec website vs FourLegExercise website!!!) Check it out and LET ME KNOW (what you think, your experiences, etc... so that I can report back if there are issues!)
I hope you find it useful!
Go there... Check it out!!!

Have a great week everyone!
Until next time... Cheers!
